The BBC has acquired UK rights to the UEFA Champions League for the 2024-2027 cycle. It is the first time that the British public service broadcaster has landed TV rights to this competition. BBC’s Champions League contract includes match highlights on television, as well as on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and mobile apps. Short clips around the competition are also expected to be regularly posted on the network’s social media channels. In addition, BBC’s deal includes the Champions League final.
BBC ALBA will show live Scottish Challenge Cup matches on Scottish television, from 2020/21 to 2022/23. Live Challenge Cup coverage may be available to stream on OTT platform BBC iPlayer.
BBC ALBA will air live matches from the Scottish Championship from 2020 until 2023 on Scottish TV. Playoffs matches between Championship and League Two sides will also be showed live. Streams may be available on BBC iPlayer.
The BBC has secured Scottish television rights for the Scottish Premiership until 2023. Starting from 2020/21, BBC ALBA will cover one delayed Premiership match on Saturday evenings.
