Canal+ has secured the media rights for the English Premier League (EPL) across multiple countries in the Sub-Saharan African region, spanning the 2022-23 to 2024-25 seasons. The deal covers Internet, Mobile and Television commercial broadcast rights.
This agreement permits Canal+ exclusive pay-TV broadcast rights in French-speaking territories within the Sub-Saharan region, covering all 380 EPL matches per season. The rights include live broadcasts, delayed transmissions, and highlights packages.
Canal+ subscribers can watch live EPL matches on CANAL+ SPORT linear channels and also via the CANAL+ app, which allows replays via on-demand access. The French-speaking countries in the Sub-Saharan African region include Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Republic of the Congo), Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire), Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, and Togo.
Canal+ Afrique to air at least two live matches per match-week in French language. Minimum one live match per match-week after the group stage, plus highlights program every match-week.
