Facebook has been awarded exclusive free-to-air rights to the UEFA Champions League in Spanish-speaking territories in Latin America. The social network will stream exclusively 32 live games every season, until 2021. Under the deal, Facebook will cover the Champions League final live, as well as the UEFA Super Cup. Coverage is expected to be carried on the official Champions League Facebook page. In addition to full matches, Wednesday highlights and magazine shows will also be published every match day. Countries in which Champions League streams will be accessible on Facebook include the following: Argentina, Aruba, Ascension Island, Belize, Bolivia, Bonaire, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Curacao, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Falkland Islands, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saba, St Barts, St Eustatius, St Martin, St Pierre & Miquelon, Suriname, Uruguay, Venezuela.
Facebook has acquired the exclusive La Liga multi-platform broadcast rights of La Liga for three seasons starting with the 2018-19 season across the various territories: India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Facebook will show all 380 matches each season on a free-to-air basis. The rights also include a weekly preview and highlights show.
The Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Facebook page will stream live matches with geo-restrictions. Match highlights from the competition may be published as well.
Facebook and Univision have agreed a deal that will allow the live streaming of 46 select Liga MX matches on Facebook in English-language. Live streaming will be available for free to users in the USA on the Univision Deportes Facebook page. The matches will also include playoff games.
