RTL Group has acquired exclusive German rights to the UEFA Europa League. The multi-platform broadcast agreement is set to run from 2021 to 2024 and will cover 141 matches per season, with games aired live in Germany on free-to-air networks RTL and Nitro, as well as on over-the-top (OTT) streaming service TVNOW.
RTL has kept the German broadcasting rights for the qualifiers for the UEFA Euro Cup 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup involving the German Men's National Team. The deal covers 28 matches involving the German national team.
Commercial broadcaster RTL has secured a deal to air the UEFA Europa League in Germany. The network will broadcast 15 live matches every season until 2021, following a partnership with over-the-top (OTT) service provider DAZN. As part of the agreement, RTL will gain access to the highlights of every match of the competition. It will also share coverage of its selected Europa League games with sister channel Nitro in Germany.
