Public service broadcaster RTP holds free-to-air Portuguese rights to the 2022 World Cup. It has agreed to share the coverage with private terrestrial networks SIC and TVI following a sublicense deal. RTP still retains the rights to 22 World Cup matches including the Final and is expected to provide comprehensive coverage of the tournament besides live matches, including match highlights, pre- and post-match shows. The 2022 World Cup on RTP may be streamed live on VOD service RTP Play.
RTP has secured international media rights to the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Live Liga NOS matches will be aired on RTP Internacional in North America and RTP Africa for the African continent. Live Liga NOS streaming may be available on the Portuguese free-to-air broadcaster’s over-the-top (OTT) platform RTP Play for international users.
Free-to-air broadcaster RTP has secured the rights to air live Taça de Portugal matches on RTP Internacional and RTP Africa networks. Live Taça de Portugal streaming may be available to audiences around the world on digital platform RTP Play, which is available online and on mobile devices via dedicated Android and iOS apps.
RTP reached an agreement with Sport TV in Portugal for coverage of the Euro 2016. RTP retain the rights to 24 games, while Sport TV will telecast all 51 matches.
