Austrian broadcaster Servus TV holds the broadcasting rights for select UEFA Europa League matches, including group phase encounters and rounds leading up to the finals. This coverage stems from a multi-year agreement with UEFA that also encompasses the Champions League and the Europa Conference League.
Servus TV, an Austrian commercial broadcaster, acquired broadcasting rights for the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League, starting from the 2021/22 season. The deal includes 33 matches per year across these competitions, viewable on free-TV and via live streams on Servus TV's website. This agreement, spanning three years, marks a notable shift in Austria’s sports broadcasting landscape, as these competitions were previously accessible mainly through subscription-based platforms. Servus TV's package grants them first-choice rights for Wednesday Champions League matches and similar rights for select Europa League and Europa Conference League games, enhancing their sports content offering.
Digital terrestrial television network Servus TV has secured German-language Austrian rights to the 2022 World Cup following a sublicensing deal with national broadcaster ORF. Servus TV has been granted access to 25 live World Cup matches, whereas ORF retains the rights to the remaining 39. Servus TV is expected to air 19 matches from the group stage, two Round of 16 fixtures, two quarterfinals, one semifinal, and the Third Place match. Servus TV’s live World Cup 2022 games may be streamed on-demand on the network’s OTT platform.
