Sky New Zealand has acquired English Premier League media rights in a six-year deal starting in 2022 and running through 2028. The pay-tv broadcaster will air all 380 Premier League games in high definition on its platforms, which include streaming service Sky Go. Sky won the rights back from Spark Sport in New Zealand after losing them in 2019.
Pay-television satellite broadcaster Sky New Zealand has acquired World Cup 2022 rights. Sky Sport is set to provide its subscribers with all 64 matches live, plus highlights, commentary, interviews, and studio shows. Sky Sport Now is expected to stream every game live in New Zealand on various devices, including smart TVs and Chromecast. Sky Sport Now also offers subscribers a 24-hour catch-up feature with replays, which is available with a 7-day trial. The broadcaster's free-to-air network Prime TV has received 22 live World Cup matches.
Sky has secured exclusive multi-platform rights to the UEFA Champions League in New Zealand. The pay-TV broadcaster will air 138 matches on TV and online. Broadcasts will also be available as high quality streams through Sky GO, the network’s official mobile app for Android and iOS devices. The subscription-based video streaming service may provide the games on-demand as well.
