Sportsnet has secured exclusive broadcast rights to England’s Women Super League in Canada until 2023 after signing a two year deal. This arrangement will see the network 50 regular season games, with some ties shown on SN NOW while others will be shown on the network’s family of channels.
Sportsnet has acquired broadcast rights to England’s Women’s FA Cup in Canada until 2023 after signing a two year deal. Sportsnet will provide coverage of the semi-finals and the finals of the annual event.
Sportsnet has secured exclusive Canadian rights to the German Bundesliga. The pay-television broadcaster previously had a sublicensing deal with Fox Sports, but its exclusive deal now makes it the official home of the Bundesliga in Canada. Sportsnet will show live Bundesliga matches every game week, in addition to match highlights, recaps, magazine shows like Bundesliga Weekly, and more.
SportsNet has acquired multi-platform English-language broadcast rights to the German Bundesliga in Canada, following a sublicensing agreement with U.S. broadcaster FOX. The deal is set to run until the end of the 2019/20 season. SportsNet's linear TV networks will telecast select Bundesliga games every match day, as well as the Bundesliga relegation playoffs. The agreement also lets SportsNet channels air highlight shows, including weekly program Bundesliga Matchday. Online streaming of the matches will be carried out by the network's premium service SportsNet Now, which will cover all 306 fixtures live and on demand.
Two live matches to be shown on each match day on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet World. In addition they will show the highlights programme each match-week. Rights have been assigned for all platforms (Cable TV, Mobile and Broadband).
Rogers Sportsnet has acquired the TV broadcast rights to show the FIFA 2011 Womens World Cup. It will join CBC to broadcast every match of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup of soccer.
