TalkSPORT has secured exclusive live commentary rights to up to 150 matches of the Sky Bet Championship. The four-year agreement between the radio network and the EFL, which runs until the end of the 2027/28 season, guarantees that at least 130 Championship matches will be covered live every season. Non-exclusive rights for score flash updates are also part of the deal. In addition, TalkSPORT Radio has exclusive commentary for all Sky Bet EFL Play-Off matches until 2028.
The EFL and TalkSPORT agreed to have 10 live matches from the Bristol Street Motors Trophy covered with live English-language commentary every season until 2027/28.
talkSPORT has retained Premier League UK rights for live audio commentary for three more seasons, from 2022/23 to 2024/25. The digital radio service gets second picks for Saturday 3pm fixtures, as part of the deal. The new agreement also lets talkSPORT users enjoy Saturday 12:30pm matches, in addition to Friday/Monday evening fixtures, as well as any displaced fixtures played during midweek.
talkSPORT radio will continue to provide live coverage of select Premier League matches throughout the 2021/22 season. Each round will feature talkSPORT along with its sister network talkSPORT 2, covering matches at 12:30, 15:00 and 17:30 UK time.
