TF1has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the French national football team's matches, including the team’s matches at the FIFA World Cup 2026. The major TV deal, which covered the rights of other competitions such as the European Championship, may extend to include other World Cup 2026 matches throughout the tournament. TF1 also announced a partnership with the French Football Federation (FFF) for access to exclusive team footage to produce series and documentaries.
For the 2021-2024 period, TF1 regained involvement in the UEFA Champions League by securing the rights to broadcast the final of the competition each year. This arrangement complements the distribution of broadcasting rights among other networks, including Canal+ and beIN Sports, allowing TF1 to offer the final match to a wider audience in clear view.
French media holding company TF1 Group has secured French free-to-air rights to the 2022 World Cup. The deal gives flagship network TF1 access to 28 out of 64 live World Cup matches. All fixtures involving the France national team have been slotted on TF1. In addition, the public broadcaster has privileges to pick the five best matches from the Round of 16, three best matches from the quarterfinal, the two semifinals, the Third Place match, and the Final. TF1’s World Cup content package includes extensive match highlights, pre- and post-match programming, and more. All the action is expected to be streamed live online on MYTF1.
