Bell Media’s TSN has acquired Canadian English-language rights to broadcast the Major League Soccer (MLS) 2024 regular season. As an official MLS TV partner, TSN is focusing on Canadian teams CF Montréal, Toronto FC, and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. This agreement extends beyond traditional television broadcasts, as TSN is set to stream live MLS matches on the TSN app available for Android and iOS, alongside its web-based subscription streaming service, TSN Go. The coverage plan includes a comprehensive schedule of games, including season openers, notable rivalry matches, and select high-profile fixtures. In addition to live match broadcasts, TSN is offering additional MLS content to its Canadian audience, including news, highlights, and in-depth analysis. The MLS 2024 regular season on TSN ensures that the network’s linear television channels and digital platforms serve as key destinations for English-speaking Canadian soccer fans seeking to follow the MLS season at home and on the go.
In the same fashion, Bell Media-owned RDS has secured French-language Canadian broadcasting rights for the 2024 MLS season, emphasizing French-language coverage of matches involving Canadian teams in high definition. RDS is streaming live MLS 2024 matches on the RDS app and through RDS' web streaming service, providing a full suite of related content, including highlights, previews, reports, and extensive MLS news and analysis. This comprehensive MLS broadcast package ensures that Francophone audiences in Canada have access to a rich array of soccer content, both on traditional TV channels and digital platforms. The acquisition of MLS broadcast rights by Bell Media for its properties TSN and RDS marks them as official Major League Soccer TV partners, highlighting their commitment to delivering extensive soccer coverage to Canadian audiences across both linguistic spectrums.
Beginning in 2021, TSN and RDS secured the Canadian broadcast rights for LaLiga, marking a significant expansion of their soccer offerings. This deal, announced in tandem with ESPN's acquisition of LaLiga rights, encompasses both English and French language coverage across a variety of platforms, including television, digital streaming via TSN.ca, RDS.ca, and their respective apps, as well as on-demand services. The agreement extends beyond live match broadcasts, incorporating match highlights, dedicated shows, and additional content across TSN’s SPORTSCENTRE and RDS’s SPORTS 30, as well as their digital and social media channels. This partnership aims to enhance the visibility of LaLiga in Canada and is part of a broader initiative to grow the league's presence in North America ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
TSN will air all 34 matches of both Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps in Canada, during the 2020 MLS season. In addition, the network is expected to show up to 20 other MLS matches live. Every game will be available for subscribers to stream live on TSN GO’s web platform and mobile apps.
