TelevisaUnivision has clinched the Spanish-language broadcasting rights for the UEFA Champions League in the United States, a deal from 2024 to 2027 valued at $225 million. The comprehensive package encompasses live matches, match highlights, previews, and post-match shows. Content is anticipated to be distributed on linear TV networks, mobile apps, and OTT platforms.
The Spanish-language rights to the UEFA Europa League in the U.S. are also part of TelevisaUnivision's three-year, $225 million deal for the 2024-2027 period. Alongside live matches, the agreement includes broadcast rights for match highlights, previews, and post-match shows. These may be available on various platforms, including linear TV networks, mobile apps, and OTT services. This extensive media package was brokered by the sports media company Relevent Sports Group.
TelevisaUnivision has obtained American TV and streaming rights to the UEFA Super Cup. From 2024 to 2027, the Spanish-language network is dedicated to airing the annual fixture live on its various platforms, with related shows and highlights offered as part of the coverage.
TelevisaUnivision has secured exclusive American Spanish-language broadcast rights for the CONMEBOL Copa America 2024, becoming the sole provider of Spanish-language broadcasts for the tournament in the United States. TelevisaUnivision networks are broadcasting all 32 games live, featuring big names like Argentina with Lionel Messi, and other confirmed teams such as Brazil, Mexico and the United States. The coverage includes live Copa America 2024 broadcasts of the matches, along with extensive surrounding content such as preview and review shows, news, and highlights. In the United States, fans can watch the Copa America 2024 live on Univision, which has 21 matches, and on UniMás, which has 11 games. TUDN USA has agreed to televise 28 out of the total 32 games.
In addition to the traditional TV broadcast, all Copa America 2024 games are available on TelevisaUnivision’s streaming platform, ViX, which allows fans to watch the matches on digital devices. The TUDN app, available for both Android and iOS devices, along with TUDN.tv, also has Copa America 2024 live streaming, although user authentication is required for access. Furthermore, the TUDN Radio Network has live audio coverage of the games with Spanish commentary.
TelevisaUnivision-owned television network TUDN will show live matches from the Copa América Femenina, after securing exclusive Spanish-language rights for the 2022 tournament. TUDN will also stream Copa América Femenina matches on its digital platforms.
TelevisaUnivision holds the domestic Spanish-language rights to the MLS in USA. The broadcaster’s coverage of the league includes live telecasts of select matches on its linear networks, including UniMás, TUDN, and flagship channel Univision. Live MLS games on the networks are available in high definition (HD), and auxiliary programming is offered to complement the match airings.
Univision owns the Spanish-language broadcast rights of the Mexican Primera Division (LigaMX) in the USA for 17 of the 18 Liga MX teams. The Liga MX matches are shown across the various channels on the Univision Network as well on it's digital platform: TUDN En Vivo, Univision Now and their Facebook page. Recently, Univision added to their already dominant portfolio by obtaining additional team rights (Atlas, Morelia, Santos and Tijuana) from Azteca America.
TUDN has exclusive digital and TV Spanish-language rights for the 2021 Copa América tournament in the United States. Univision and UniMás will show 26 of the competition’s 28 matches and will provide select pre-game coverage over the course of the tournament. In addition, fans can live-stream games with Univision’s complimentary ad-free streaming service, PrendeTV, which will also host its own daily specialty post-game specialty show on the platform.
PrendeTV can be accessed across a host of devices, including smart TVs, computers, mobiles (Android and iOS), and tablets.
Spanish-language broadcaster Univision will air all three matches from the U.S. women’s national team in the 2021 SheBelieves Cup on its linear network TUDN. TUDN Radio will also provide live commentary, whereas the TUDN app will stream the games live.
