Spanish-language media company TelevisaUnivision has acquired U.S. rights to the Mexican Liga MX. As part of its extensive coverage of the Mexican top division, the broadcaster has agreed to stream multiple matches live on its streaming platform ViX, in the USA. Live telecasts are expected on the company’s linear networks as well, throughout the period of the deal.
TelevisaUnivision has secured Spanish-language media rights to the 2023 and 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup editions. This adds both editions of the continental tournament to the giant broadcaster’s long list of soccer competitions, with live matches on its multiple platforms across USA.
TelevisaUnivision has secured Spanish-speaking rights for the UEFA Champions League in USA. The broadcaster’s family of networks has opted to air live matches from the competition every season, from the group stage to the Final. Live Champions League matches in the USA will be televised on Univision, UniMás, TUDN, and Galavisión. Both live and on-demand streaming will be available on digital platforms, including TUDN App. All broadcasts are set to be in high definition. Throughout the period of the deal, Champions League highlights and auxiliary shows are expected to be aired to supplement the coverage.
TUDN has agreed on a three-year extension deal with UEFA for U.S. rights to the Europa League. The TelevisaUnivision-owned Spanish-language network is set to telecast live Europa League matches throughout the period of the deal. This comes as part of the broadcaster’s aim to bolster its soccer coverage in the USA with major UEFA club competitions across its various outlets, including TUDNxtra, the TUDN app, and streaming service.
TelevisaUnivision has acquired media rights to the UEFA Super Cup in USA. The annual cup match is set to air on the company’s linear channels and streaming services until 2024.
TelevisaUnivision holds the domestic Spanish-language rights to the MLS in USA. The broadcaster’s coverage of the league includes live telecasts of select matches on its linear networks, including UniMás, TUDN, and flagship channel Univision. Live MLS games on the networks are available in high definition (HD), and auxiliary programming is offered to complement the match airings.
TelevisaUnivision-owned television network TUDN will show live matches from the Copa América Femenina, after securing exclusive Spanish-language rights for the 2022 tournament. TUDN will also stream Copa América Femenina matches on its digital platforms.
Univision owns the Spanish-language broadcast rights of the Mexican Primera Division (LigaMX) in the USA for 17 of the 18 Liga MX teams. The Liga MX matches are shown across the various channels on the Univision Network as well on it's digital platform: TUDN En Vivo, Univision Now and their Facebook page. Recently, Univision added to their already dominant portfolio by obtaining additional team rights (Atlas, Morelia, Santos and Tijuana) from Azteca America.
Univision has acquired exclusive Spanish-language rights to the UEFA Euro 2020 in USA. The multi-platform deal means that the Euro 2020 will be aired live on TUDN, and possibly the rest of the Spanish-speaking broadcaster’s family of linear networks – Univision, UniMás and Galavision. Some fixtures may also be diverted towards digital service TUDNxtra. Univision’s full coverage of the UEFA Euro 2020 tournament will be available to watch live online and on mobile devices via streaming platform TUDN en Vivo. Additional programming, such as match previews, reports and highlights are expected to enrich the overall Euro 2020 experience of Univision subscribers.
TUDN has exclusive digital and TV Spanish-language rights for the 2021 Copa América tournament in the United States. Univision and UniMás will show 26 of the competition’s 28 matches and will provide select pre-game coverage over the course of the tournament. In addition, fans can live-stream games with Univision’s complimentary ad-free streaming service, PrendeTV, which will also host its own daily specialty post-game specialty show on the platform.
PrendeTV can be accessed across a host of devices, including smart TVs, computers, mobiles (Android and iOS), and tablets.
Univision has secured Spanish-language broadcast rights to the UEFA Champions League in USA. All 137 matches will be aired live on its family of networks and services during the 2019-20 season. Together, Univision, UniMás, TUDN and Galavisión will cover 80 games live on TV. The remaining matches will be made available to stream live on TUDNxtra. Subscribers will additionally have access to Zona Fútbol, a whip-around program providing updates on Group Stage games being played concurrently.
Univision has secured Spanish-language Europa League rights in USA. The network will broadcast the matches on TV and on its premium video streaming platforms. This includes TUDNxtra, which is expected to bring exclusive games to subscribers, which will also be available via the TUDN app for Android and iOS devices. In addition to live telecasts, Univision's family of channels, including TUDN USA, may offer full match replays throughout the season.
