Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) will now continue to have exclusive rights to the Bundesliga in Denmark through 2029 after extending their prior four-year deal with Bundesliga International, an ancillary of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga.
Viewers will be able to live-stream over 300 Bundesliga matches each season featuring the game’s biggest stars via Viaplay’s high-definition OTT streaming service. Game-day commentary and analysis will be provided in Danish, as well as key match highlights and postgame shows.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has acquired multi-platform English Premier League rights in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in a deal that runs from 2022 to 2028. Live EPL streaming will be available on Viaplay – the leading online video streaming service in the Nordic region. Live Premier League matches and full replays may also be aired on NENT’s pay-TV and free-TV channels. The deal marks the first broadcast rights agreement for the Premier League’s cycle starting with the 2022-2023 season, and it also marks the first time a European broadcaster has secured EPL rights for a six-year period.
Viaplay Group has secured exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League in Denmark and Sweden for the 2024-2027 cycle. This is part of a major deal struck with UEFA for Europe’s top club competitions covering the Nordic region. In Iceland, Viaplay may share coverage with local broadcaster Sýn. The agreement includes over 200 UEFA Champions League games annually, available to stream online via Viaplay’s direct-to-consumer OTT service and partnerships with major telco and TV operators in Nordic countries.
NENT Group has retained its Bundesliga rights in the Nordic region until 2025. The broadcast deal extension will see the pan-Nordic broadcaster air over 300 live German Bundesliga matches on its streaming service Viaplay, every season. Many of these Bundesliga games will also be aired live on NENT Group’s linear television networks. At least one Bundesliga match will be shown in Ultra HD format every match week. The agreement also includes pan-Nordic media rights to the German Super Cup, 2. Bundesliga and the Bundesliga relegation playoffs. Additional programming will include expert studio analysis in local languages, and match highlights.
Viaplay Group has acquired the media rights to stream the Copa America 2024 live in Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and Sweden, offering on-demand access alongside live broadcasts. Viewers in these countries benefit from detailed coverage featuring all matches and highlights, available on Viaplay's platform and app.
Nordic Entertainment (NENT) Group has extended its exclusive UEFA Champions League broadcast rights in Denmark until 2024. Whereas airings will be carried out on pay-television, all matches will be streamed live on the broadcaster’s pan-Nordic OTT service Viaplay. Under this new three-year deal between NENT and UEFA, coverage of the Champions League in Denmark will also include match highlights and extensive studio programming.
