Pay-tv broadcaster Ziggo has extended its Dutch rights to the Spanish La Liga until the 2028-29 season. This comes as Ziggo renewed its existing agreement set to end in 2024, to another five additional seasons through 2029.
Telco company Ziggo has extended its Dutch rights for the Spanish La Liga for three additional seasons. Ziggo’s new agreement with LaLiga lets its linear and digital platforms broadcast La Liga matches live from 2021 through 2024. The Primera Division games will be aired by Ziggo Sport and the pay-TV operator’s OTT subscription streaming service Ziggo Sport Totaal. TV coverage of La Liga on Ziggo Sport in the Netherlands will include match highlights, magazine shows, and at least two live games every week. Much more comprehensive La Liga coverage is expected to be available online, live and on demand.
Dutch broadcaster Ziggo Sport has extended its media rights to the UEFA Champions League for three additional seasons, from 2021 to 2024. Ziggo Sport will show all Champions Leagues matches on its television and digital platforms in the Netherlands throughout the period of the deal. Ziggo Sport’s Champions League coverage will include simulcasts, early-kickoff fixtures, match highlights and more. The live games will be aired not only on Ziggo’s premium networks, but also on its basic-tier channel.
Ziggo Sport has acquired exclusive multi-platform English Premier League rights in the Netherlands. The Dutch pay-TV broadcaster will telecast live matches and air match highlights to its subscribers, as well as provide Premier League streams on its OTT platforms for computers and mobile devices.
Ziggo Sport has acquired UEFA Champions League rights in the Netherlands, and will air live matches on its TV channels and online streaming service until 2021. Broadcasts will include both full matches and summaries, as well as the UEFA Super Cup. Multicast coverage may also be provided to let subscribers stay updated on goals and other events from various games being played at the same time.
